Support our Food Pantry!

YWCA NCA is looking for donations of non-perishable food items and gently worn clothing!

Hunger affects 68,900 persons in the District of Columbia, with 17,890 of them being children. Every month, YWCA National Capital Area supplies hundreds of customers with nutritional groceries from our food pantry, including fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats, as well as very fine apparel at no cost.

LOOKING TO DONATE?

The YWCA National Capital Area accepts non-perishable food items and ready-to-wear, seasonally appropriate apparel and footwear. Donations should be brought washed and in working order as we are unable to wash or repair them. You can drop off donations in our lobby and our office coordinator will assist you.

Donations can be dropped off on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Small household items are welcome, but due to space constraints, all large items are turned away.

If you have any questions, feel free to call us at (202) 626-0700

About our Food Pantry

Prior to the pandemic, YWCA National Capital Area ran a small food pantry out of our lobby for our students and program participants. In 2020, however, we opened our food pantry doors to the public, and have been consistently serving over 200 families a week since. Clients can enter and choose from a variety of food products, and no identification is required.

Thank you to Capital Area Food Bank for helping us provide nutritious food to our community!

About our Clothing Closet

YWCA National Capital Area also provides our clients and their families with clothing for children and adults, shoes, jewelry, and modest home products for many seasons and events. All apparel is donated and offered at no cost. We are grateful for our local partners, A Wider Circle, for bi-monthly donations of professional clothing.
