Summer Academic Advisor – EmpowerSTEAM Program 

Note: EmpowerSTEAM will be held in person at Trinity Washington University from July 5 – August 5, 2022. Training for EmpowerSTEAM staff members will be held at the YWCA NCA Headquarters from June 27 – July 1, 2022.  

The YWCA NCA is seeking energetic and highly engaged undergraduate or graduate students to serve as Academic Advisors for our EmpowerSTEAM Summer Academy. EmpowerSTEAM is a 5-week, interactive, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics summer program for girls ages 10-17. The Academic Advisor for the EmpowerSTEAM Program will provide supervision for program participants at all times (during class sessions, program activities, lunch breaks and field trips). Academic Advisors are expected to serve as leaders, mentors, care-takers and role models throughout the program and are integral in creating a nurturing academic community that is responsive to the social and emotional needs of the program participants. Integrated Education & Training (IET) Instructor – Workforce Development/Hospitality Instructor– Part-Time

The Workforce Development/Hospitality IET Instructor must be experienced in providing instruction in workforce development leading to certifications in the Hospitality industry. She/he must also be able to provide instruction to a wide variety of learners, with various academic needs, including English as a Second Language learners. She/he will be responsible for developing and teaching concurrent & contextual workforce and basic skills to adult learners, creating lesson plans utilizing the hospitality curriculum, including real-life contextual learning experiences in the Hospitality industry. The Instructor will integrate the use of technology into the lessons, as well as utilize varied curriculum resources. Must comply with mandatory vaccination policy. Career Education & Training Center (CETC) Program Assistant – Part-Time

The CETC Program Assistant (part-time) is responsible for assisting in the coordination and management of program activities, including assisting with student recruitment and registration, performing general office duties such as answering calls, record keeping, data entry, filing and addressing client concerns. Career Education & Training Center (CETC) Case Manager – Part-Time
