So often families come together and avoid topics of race, injustice or privilege. We believe that the best way to create change is to start at home.

Please join YWCA National Capital Area on November 7, 2019 for our next Courageous Conversation called “Difficult Holiday Conversations: Talking About Race & Fear at the Dinner Table.” This conversation will be an opportunity for participants to learn and practice strategies for having difficult holiday conversations. Participants will share tools and strategies to talk about challenging topics and how they can work through them in a collective, supportive fashion. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner & discussion beginning at 6 p.m.

This workshop is part of a series of activities YWCA National Capital Area plans for this year and next – for community dialogue, education, and to empower each of us to take an active role in dismantling racism. Through facilitated conversations, we will explore the dynamics of race, bias, and inequity. Share and learn from your neighbors. We are stronger together in the work to eliminate racism and empower women.
