Washington, D.C.was the first majority Black city in America, earning itself the nickname of Chocolate City. However, this nickname has fallen out of common use.

Why?

Join YWCA National Capital Area for a screening and discussion of ‘What Happened 2 Chocolate City,’ a documentary which examines how gentrification is changing Black communities as told through the lenses of three generations of Washingtonians. Admission is free, but space is limited – RSVP today!

Movie snacks and refreshments will be served.
