The freedom to vote is something our community has long fought for in the streets, at the ballot box, and in legislative offices. Yet, roadblocks to the ballot box including stricter voter identification laws, limited voting times, restricted voter registration, and inaccessible polling places continue to grow. 

It is time to restore the key provisions of the Voting Rights Act that have been stripped away in recent years. Tonight, our legislators have the chance! 

The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4) TONIGHT!  If passed, this bill will restore the federal government’s ability to block state and local governments from passing racially discriminatory bills so that we all have an equal say in our futures.
