Our Power: Stand Against Racism Rally for Racial Justice

9:00 AM

Freedom Plaza, 1455 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Washington, DC

Lets activate our collective power for a future without racism!

Join us as we raise our voices to denounce the structural and instutitional racism that hurts our communities each and every day. As civil rights are eroded for communities of color, we must work to support full access and engagement for women and girls of color in the political process.

Take the privilege walk. Together we'll participate in a 'Privilege Walk' activity, led by Operation Understanding DC. This activity will help us visualize the opportunities that privilege affords, and a lack of privilege restricts.

Take the Pledge. Sign your name and affirm your commitment to eliminating racism in your community.

Take ACTION. Civic engagement is a core piece of the work for racial justice. During the rally you'll have the opportunity to connect with community groups and find your space to make a difference.

Immediately following the rally, we'll get to work. Civic engagement looks different for everyone. Whether you organize, advocate, vote or serve your communities, each of us can take a stand against racism by working together. Join us for panel discussion led by YWCA USA to explore how you can make a difference. Hear from experts and community leaders about the opportunities to support communities of color in voting, organizing and fighting for their rights.
