Make an Investment of Your Time and Talents

Volunteers Make a Difference Volunteering for the YWCA is a great experience. It is an opportunity for you to meet other people with similar interests and give back to the community. What’s event better, is you are part of a family that is working towards eliminating racism and empowering women.

The YWCA greatly values its volunteers and wants to make sure everyone has a fulfilling and fun experience. We offer many volunteer opportunities ranging from administrative tasks, program support, and special event management.

    The Washington Area Women in the Trades (WAWIT) program:
  • Tutor adult women in basic academic skills
    Math, reading and computer tutors are needed for Saturday mornings
  • Facilitate life skills workshops in your area of expertise
    Speakers are needed on topics rainging from job interview skills; resume writing; effective communication; stress management; conflict management; parenting, etc.
  • Assist WAWIT staff with administrative duties

    Children's Center:

  • There are no current volunteer needs.

    The YWCA administrative office:

  • Organizing documents on the history of YWCA
  • Assist staff with administrative duties
